Orange Cake with Dark Chocolate Sauce and French Vanilla Ice-Cream
INGREDIENTS:
-1/2 cup fresh orange juice
-1 1/2 cup plain flour
-3 eggs
-1 1/2 cup sugar
-1t vanilla essence
1/4 cup milk
-1/2T orange zest
-1/2 cup oil
-Pinch of salt
-Dark Chocolate (own choice of amount)
METHOD:
1. Preheat oven to 180°C
2. Sift plain flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl
3. Mix the eggs, vanilla essence, milk, oil and orange juice in a jug
4. Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture and then mix
5. Add the orange zest to the cake mixture and mix well
6. Pour the cake mixture into a cake tin and bake for 15-20 minutes
7. Place the cake into a cooling rack and put it at the top of a large bowl
8. Melt the dark chocolate and pour it over the orange cake
9. Serve it with fresh oranges and french vanilla ice-cream
